Our company is looking for a Chief Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Accell in new and challenging environments and situations;
  • Implement and maintain a work order system like Hot Sauce or Maximo for effective P.M. scheduling matching Skill levels to Task workload;
  • Technical Department purchasing, planning and budgeting;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Keep software versions up to date. Insures software license compliance. Follows all corporate directives for IT security;

  • Liaise and coordinate program engineering efforts between development teams;
  • Work with industry and government stakeholders in resolution of engineering systems issues;
  • Provide leadership to the Union Labor Mechanical Engineering staff to develop operational culture, and improve overall building performance;
  • Provide weekly operations report to building management on department progress and milestones;
  • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures;
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis;
  • Maintains all Engineering Spaces in a safe, clean, organized, energy efficient manner;
  • Remains current on related technology advances that would enhance operations;
  • Plan and oversee renovations and construction.

Requirements:

  • Work in a fast paced environment;
  • Understand the methods, principles, and practices required for the operation and maintenance of the mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience within a multifamily community, high rise environment, hotel or commercial building;
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may exceed 8 hours in a day, 5 days a week or 40 hours in a week. On-call 24/7;
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role;
  • Hotel experience a plus;
  • calibration, welding and cutting;
  • A certificate of Professional Engineering is preferred;
  • Basic mathematical skills in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations;
  • Three to five years supervisory experience or experience as Lead Engineer;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation;
  • Associate Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience preferred;
  • Financial knowledge necessary for reading and understanding budgets, budget variances and basic reporting as required by management;
  • Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required, i.e. Journeyman or Master Electrician License or City Licenses.
