Class A Cdl Truck Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Class A Cdl Truck Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist colleagues as needed;
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Harvest policies and procedures;
- Pickup, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork;
- Communicate with dispatch as needed;
- Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs;
- Ensure contents are properly secured in truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury;
- Track and report working hours;
- Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times;
- Make safety a priority at all times;
- Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries;
- Treats all customers with the utmost respect;
- Maintain the service and appearance of truck;
- Check tires, brakes, and lights;
- Maintain driver’s logs and complete pre-trip inspections;
- Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with moderate noise, sometimes slippery floors. Temperature range from 34-120 degrees F;
- Must possess and maintain a CDL Class A with Air Brake endorsement;
- Class A CDL with Interstate Certification as well as Haz-Mat & Tanker endorsements;
- 2 years tractor trailer driving experience;
- 6 mo Tanker experience preferred;
- Valid California Commercial Class-A Driver’s License;
- Driving record must be in good standing (Current H-6);
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time;
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented;
- Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles;
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required;
- Proficient using GPS and other routing systems;
- High level of composure and good stress management;
- Applicants must be 23 years or older;
- Class A CDL.
