Delivery Driver Job Description

The Delivery Driver inspects, maintains, and schedules repairs on truck/trailer. Receives and delivers products and equipment. Being a Delivery Driver must be licensed to operate a truck and appropriate DOT certification required. Maintains records of deliveries and follows efficient travel routes. In addition, Delivery Driver may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Delivery Driver possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Our company is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • In a noisy environment;
  • Assists in other areas of the restaurant when needed;
  • Able to fulfill job descriptions of cut & pack and cook;
  • Separate, sort & account for all invoices;
  • Upon return to yard empty trailer (consolidate at domiciles );
  • Properly document activity;
  • Providing good customer service to Shipping/Receiving staff at customer locations;
  • Maintain consistent level of professionalism while representing Dunn Lumber Company;
  • Drive vehicle to deliver goods to our other cafes from our main kitchen;
  • Collect on unpaid orders and shipments;
  • Endurance to complete full day residential home moves;
  • Deliver materials and equipment from shop to job sites;
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner;
  • Provide exceptional customer service;
  • Participates in training on topics such as driver safety, customer training, and product knowledge, IBS specific training modules.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license;
  • High energy with the ability to effectively perform all functions of the store and multitasking effectively;
  • Valid Driver’s License/ Insurance;
  • Smile frequently, naturally;
  • Professional appearance and demeanor;
  • Able to lift packages (up to 50 lbs.);
  • Dedicated to working as a team towards a common goal;
  • Must be 21 years old and pass a criminal background check to qualify for an ABC permit;
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record from the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles;
  • Must pass background check;
  • Consistent work history/strong work ethic;
  • Must provide your own vehicle;
  • Agricultural or industrial equipment experience required;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • K-4/3 year MVR printout from DMV (issued within 30 days).
