Our company is looking for a Event Captain to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with event planners to identify ways to improve future events;
  • THIS IS NOT AN EVENT PLANNER POSITION – this position is very similar to that of a shift leader;
  • Ensure all check out processes are completed;
  • Create server duties prior to staff rally;
  • Execute catering events from start to finish;
  • Manage and delegate a staff of up to 30 team members;
  • Ensure guest and client satisfaction;
  • Must wear required uniform and maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance;
  • Greet guests and continually monitor to ensure quality guest satisfaction;
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment;
  • Review the BEO, floorplan, event checklist, staff sheet, and any other papers in the event packet prior to every event;
  • Inform managers of guest comments/complaints;
  • Coordinate all banquet activities to ensure that each course is served in accordance to the banquet timeline;
  • Ensure that all guest requests are promptly addressed;
  • Provide prompt, professional and courteous service during banquet functions.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and be on your feet for up to 12 hours at a time;
  • Must be able to work in high pressure scenarios;
  • Knowledge of food & beverage etiquette;
  • Must have strong communication skills and leadership skills;
  • High school diploma preferred;
  • Ability to drive vans and box trucks and navigate to different venues;
  • Punctuality and a positive attitude are an absolute requirement;
  • Previous event catering experience required;
  • Critical thinking;
  • Ability work in a walking or standing manor for long periods of time;
  • Communicate well to staff, clients, and guests;
  • Maturity of judgment and behavior;
  • Work evening, weekends, and holidays;
  • Work well under pressure and in a high paced environment.
