Our company is looking for a Local Delivery Driver to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • keep interior and exterior of truck/trailer combination neat and clean;
  • check load to ensure safe and undamaged delivery of products; refuse load if not safely loaded or if equipment is defective;
  • provide feedback to branch management about customers;
  • locate and return any company property;
  • Make deliveries promptly while maintaining a friendly and helpful relationship with the customer;
  • Meet or exceed the expectations of our customers by providing a positive customer experience;
  • Maintain vehicle fluid levels, air pressures, and vehicle cleanliness inside and out;
  • Sign, date, and completely fill out driver logs with accurate record of stops, operating hours and vehicle inspection;
  • Adhere to federal, state, local driving laws and DOT and FMCSA regulations, such as pre-trip inspections and driver logs;
  • Back up warehouse personnel;
  • Secure all materials to prevent accidents, damage, and/or loss;
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on delivery equipment and submit/maintain required DVIR ( Dr i vers V e hicle I nspection Report) ;
  • Assist customers in the unloading and loading of delivered goods;
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements:

  • Valid CDL A license;
  • Effectively use GPS, read maps, and follow directions;
  • Lifting up to 90 lbs;
  • Unloading via ramp and hand dolly;
  • Maintain professional image as a representative of the company;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment;
  • Securing empty pallets and totes in the truck;
  • Will perform pre- and post-shift equipment/vehicle checks;
  • Effective use of cell phone and hands-free equipment while driving;
  • Clean driving record;
  • Manual Transmission driving experience;
  • Effective communication, customer service, and stress management skills;
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations;
  • Ability to drive safely and obey and adhere to applicable laws and regulations;
  • Basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division skills with or without using a calculator.
