Route Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Route Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a company provided truck in an efficient/safe manner complying with all company policy and DOT regulations;
- Build and maintain relationships with the customers team members;
- Keep truck clean and organized and in compliance with DOT and Maintenance requirements;
- Accurately track all units via pickup and delivery logs. Obtain required sign offs on all units;
- Pick up and deliver units from stores to shop for repairs and back again once repairs are completed;
- Pack and ship merchandise as required;
- Mixing, carrying and sanitizing our 5 gallon solution buckets;
- Neatly complete service records, logs and other paperwork;
- Conduct accurate core sampling of grease traps at each location;
- Drive and operate company vehicle safely;
- Complete all assigned deliveries promptly in an organized and efficient manner;
- Safely unload and deliver product into retail accounts;
- Oversee and deliver products safely and efficiently to assigned accounts daily;
- Assists students in the loading and unloading process;
- Safely transports passengers.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work in all areas of the HUB’s distribution center and perform any necessary job duties as assigned;
- Good driving record: No more than 2 moving violations in past 24 months or 3 moving violations in past 36 months;
- Squat or crouch to handle or position freight;
- Must never have tested positive for a controlled substance;
- Shift manual transmission with use of foot pedals;
- Drive 26 ft. automatic transmission box trucks with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW;
- Customer service experience with a wide variety of consistent customer contact;
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and excellent driving record;
- Ability to neatly write routine reports and notations;
- Must be able to work independently and as a team member;
- Valid driver s license for at least 3 years;
- At least 21 years old;
- HS Diploma or GED;
- Drug Test.
