Sanitation Worker Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sanitation Worker to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Follow SOP’s for cleaning equipment;
- Use of anti slip boots are recommended and also to keep their feet dry;
- Following companies GMP’s and policies – use of hairnets, beard nets, smocks, proper shoes, no jewelry or piercings, etc ;
- Provide suggestions to improve the process, procedures, and department in support of company goals;
- Uses required chemicals as indicated in the work instructions;
- Must know how to use the pallet jack;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork;
- Use handrails;
- Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts & horseplay;
- Weigh and record wastes;
- Complete Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly cleaning assignments;
- Responsible for cleaning, sanitation and sweeping of all relevant areas;
- Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift);
- Utilize lockout/tagout procedures and follow all safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Must have experience working in the food industry;
- Must be reliable;
- Must be able to disassemble machinery for cleaning, and reassemble when finished;
- Ability to stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs/steps, ladders and walk on wet surfaces on occasion or continuously for 8 or more hours during a shift;
- Excellent manual dexterity; Strong physical endurance; Ability to stand for long periods of time;
- Ability to learn the technical aspects of equipment;
- Ability to work independent or work harmoniously with others in a team atmosphere;
- Ability to read numbers, symbols and images electronic and paper;
- Must have the ability to use basic tools (wrenches, screw drivers etc.);
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs on occasion or continuously for 8 hours or more during a shift;
- Must be available for OT if needed;
- Must display good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization;
- Ability to work with others in a fast-paced team environment;
- Must demonstrate the ability to ensure quality control and efficient work flow;
- Ability to communicate effectively to co-workers, managers, quality assurance personnel, and government inspectors.
