Our company is looking for a Sanitation Worker to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow SOP’s for cleaning equipment;
  • Use of anti slip boots are recommended and also to keep their feet dry;
  • Following companies GMP’s and policies – use of hairnets, beard nets, smocks, proper shoes, no jewelry or piercings, etc ;
  • Provide suggestions to improve the process, procedures, and department in support of company goals;
  • Uses required chemicals as indicated in the work instructions;
  • Must know how to use the pallet jack;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork;
  • Use handrails;
  • Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts & horseplay;
  • Weigh and record wastes;
  • Complete Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly cleaning assignments;
  • Responsible for cleaning, sanitation and sweeping of all relevant areas;
  • Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift);
  • Utilize lockout/tagout procedures and follow all safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience working in the food industry;
  • Must be reliable;
  • Must be able to disassemble machinery for cleaning, and reassemble when finished;
  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs/steps, ladders and walk on wet surfaces on occasion or continuously for 8 or more hours during a shift;
  • Excellent manual dexterity; Strong physical endurance; Ability to stand for long periods of time;
  • Ability to learn the technical aspects of equipment;
  • Ability to work independent or work harmoniously with others in a team atmosphere;
  • Ability to read numbers, symbols and images electronic and paper;
  • Must have the ability to use basic tools (wrenches, screw drivers etc.);
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lbs on occasion or continuously for 8 hours or more during a shift;
  • Must be available for OT if needed;
  • Must display good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization;
  • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced team environment;
  • Must demonstrate the ability to ensure quality control and efficient work flow;
  • Ability to communicate effectively to co-workers, managers, quality assurance personnel, and government inspectors.
