Our company is looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures;
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision;
  • Utilizes the DPW work order database on a day-to-day basis to identify, process, and close work order requests;
  • Responsible for assembling site specific source data to auto-generate backhaul network device;
  • Provide direction and coordinate staff necessary to complete assignments;
  • Adhering to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including project accounting (set up, budgeting, etc.), contracting, and quality requirements;
  • Reviews traffic calming proposals, roadway and traffic signal construction, and other related projects in the public way;
  • May assist with the preparation and/or review of proposals;
  • Designing, preparing, or overseeing the preparation of preliminary and final plans in Civil 3D, and/or Microstation/InRoads software;
  • Attend and document project meetings with agendas and/or notes/minutes;
  • Actively participate in the marketing process by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service and assisting with project pursuits;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Coordinate and track project status and action items, monitor project progress, and manage multiple projects;
  • Assists the Director in management and oversight of Transportation Division budgets;
  • Work with management on direction for upcoming transport design programs.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of design experience is preferred;
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must;
  • PE is required;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master Degree a plus;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or other design software as appropriate;
  • At least three (3) years in a supervisory role;
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license;
  • Professional Traffic Operation Engineer (PTOE) certification is desirable;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and traffic analysis and simulation software;
  • PathLoss 5 and Google Earth experience. Planet design experience beneficial;
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required;
  • Possesses a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in civil engineering, with strong design and regulatory experience.
