Our company is looking for a Shipping Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Tracking information between carriers/ links for reports;
  • Follow procedure outlined in government contracts, purchase orders to prepare government invoices;
  • Processing, Sorting and grouping shipment transit times;
  • Posts weights and shipping charges;
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies;
  • Problem solving on any shipment errors;
  • Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers;
  • Operates forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from platform to storage or work area;
  • May assume receiving responsibilities as needed;
  • Assists the Accounting Department with day-to-day admin functions when and where necessary;
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates;
  • Prepares labels, waybills, export declarations, certifications, special attachments, government forms, BOL, and special mailing certificates;
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment;
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments;
  • Follow terms outlined in letters of credit.

Requirements:

  • Hours: 8:30a-5:00p;
  • Prior warehouse shipping, receiving and routing experience;
  • Executes standard work instructions with significantly less supervision than Operations Manager;
  • Reviews DN for the coming days to schedule shipments on customers portals;
  • Proactively communicates issues, shortages, or problems to Operations Manager, indirect purchasing, and/or Customer Services Representatives;
  • Ensures thorough housekeeping and organization of work areas;
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work area at all times including HiLo operation;
  • Wears required PPE and follows all company safety procedures, including safe lifting practices;
  • Strong leadership, team and people management skills;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Time management skills;
  • 1-3 years of experience in Logistics;
  • Ability to operate Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack;
  • knowledge of packaging regulations and vendor ship guidelines;
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
