Shuttle Driver Job Description

The Shuttle Driver loads and unloads goods, equipment, materials and passengers between various destinations. Operates company vans or small buses. Being a Shuttle Driver ensures deliveries and pickups are on time. Provides and collects appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods or passengers. In addition, Shuttle Driver may keep logs of vehicle maintenance. May require a Chauffeur Driver’s License (CDL). Typically reports to a supervisor. Requires Driver’s license. Being a Shuttle Driver possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Our company is looking for a Shuttle Driver to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and clean vehicle condition at the start and end of each shift;
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner;
  • Greet arriving and departing guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner;
  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road;
  • Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations;
  • Maintains personal and vehicle appearance;
  • Unloading Damaged Goods and Customer Returns and Completing Paperwork as Necessary;
  • Fuel (As Required by The Division); Unhooking and Secure Trailer; Parking and Securing Tractor and Hand Truck;
  • Moving Tractor to The Loading Dock to Attach Pre-Loaded Trailer And/or Attach 2Nd Trailer with The Dolly;
  • Attend All Required Company Meetings and Adhere to All Safety Practices and Company Policies;
  • Conducting pre and post trip inspections to ensure proper operating condition of vehicle and on-board equipment;
  • Ensures security of company assets, vehicles, and merchandise;
  • Shuttle runs from 6AM – 2AM – Full availability for scheduling required (8 hour shifts);
  • Locate vehicles on the various lots;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Obtain a DOT medical certification;
  • Be at least 21 years of age;
  • Have an active driver’s license;
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service;
  • Must Be Able to Work in Extreme Weather Conditions;
  • Ability to read, write and speak clearly;
  • No More Than Two Convictions in The Past Two-Year Period for Traffic Violations;
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age;
  • Must Be Able to Use, Or Learn to Use, All Equipment, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) I.E. Xata, Pod, And Tools Used to Perform the Job;
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, DOT physical, and background check;
  • Must be willing to work Saturdays;
  • Have good organizational skills;
  • Must possess a clean driving record;
  • Must have Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements;
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
