Truck Driver Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Truck Driver to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers;
- Perform basic upkeep to tractor, i.e. grease fifth wheel plate, clean inside of cab with disinfectant wipes;
- May be required to work extended hours due to business needs;
- Assist in the loading and unloading of goods or equipment to be transported;
- Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers;
- Performs other duties as required;
- Plan routes using GPS system;
- Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible;
- Report any damage of freight incurred during transportation to the supervisor or dispatcher;
- Conduct daily inspections of the truck at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management;
- Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process;
- Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army;
- Report defects, accidents or violations.
Requirements:
