Overview:
Quality Control Systems Coordinator

The Quality Control Systems Coordinator (QCSC) works directly with the AVP of Compliance Quality Control to conduct quality reviews and testing, by coordinating with the various business leaders to ensure loan production compliance with all agency guidelines, company overlays, and policies, as well as state and federal requirements. Further, the QCSC will conduct process evaluation, analysis, reporting, and recommendations to various levels of management regarding improvements and changes to compliance controls that affect quality and eligibility and will implement action plans with various departments, beginning with root cause analysis all the way through to resolution.

As the second line of defense for compliance/risk management for the organization, the compliance department is accountable for the oversight of quality controls across the origination channels, implemented through a partnership with business and corporate function leaders. As part of this control function, the QCSC is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable regulations, laws, and corporate policies. The QCSC will ensure that controls are effectively designed and executed in line with compliance requirements from prudential regulators and agencies as well as the company’s risk tolerance. Moreover, the QCSC must manage a control framework that monitors the effectiveness of the remedial items put in place for state examination findings and internal controls. This person may also provide materials disseminated to the monthly Compliance Committee for executive-level review.

The role can take advantage of Lakeview’s offices in Charlotte, NC hybrid or fully-remote anywhere in the United States. The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 with annual bonus; however, Bayview considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, location and key skills.

Responsibilities:
Lead control identification and assessment for all origination channels.

Create corrective action plans around identified errors found in loan files and processes based upon a defined script.

Implement ad hoc exception testing where applicable and most efficient, by working directly with the compliance team and department leaders.

Work across the business departments to identify and verify key compliance risks and work with business owners to design, establish, and update compliance controls in Resolver.

Assist the compliance department with issue management processes; verify the issue and corrective action plans; and proactively manage the resolution of issues with business owners.

Coordinate management of issues raised in examinations, working with Compliance Audit Facilitation

Partner with policy-document owners to coordinate the interaction of policies and the compliance Ad Hoc reviews.

Lead special projects related to compliance risk management; participate in company working groups and committees related to compliance.

Makes recommendations on complex matters that may have a significant impact on compliance and the conduct of the organization’s business.

Identifies and implements strategies to improve compliance efficiencies and reengineer processes in partnership with Originations Operations

Manage horizontally and vertically and across multiple functions both internally within the company and externally with third-party vendors.

Provides subject matter expertise when necessary.

Work with confidential information with the appropriate care and discretion.

Report findings and results of the Ad Hoc reviews and testing.

Create corrective action plans around identified errors found in loan files and processes based upon compliance reviews.

Making recommendations for effective resolution of compliance issues.

Identify Quality Control compliance risk areas and trends.

Other duties as assigned by the AVP of Compliance Quality Control, including MSR Due Diligence Reviews

Assist the Compliance Department and other business units, as assigned.

May have direct reports, as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-10 years of mortgage lending experience, preferably in Compliance, Audit, QC, Underwriting, Closing, or Post-Closing.

High School Diploma or higher.

Attend additional educational courses or conferences as directed.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure deadline-driven environment and must effectively navigate a highly matrixed organizational structure in order to identify, build, and maintain key relationships.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration

An underwriting certification, industry certification, or accreditation is preferred, but not required.

Lakeview Loan Servicing (LLS) operates in a highly regulated industry. Unless you are a licensed loan officer in the state in which a property is located, you are prohibited from speaking with any customer in an attempt to quote rates, terms, or conditions of a loan program or otherwise negotiate a mortgage loan with a customer.

It is never acceptable for a customer to be asked to sign a document in a “blank” form, or with blanks on any form. You are obligated to ensure that this does not happen on any loan file in which you are involved.

You are responsible for ensuring that any and all loan files in which you may be involved are maintained in a safe and secure manner. Loan files should not be left on your desk unattended, nor maintained in an unlocked environment. Every employee should have access to a locking file cabinet or drawer for their immediate use.

Our customers’ and employees’ private information must be protected. No employee may discuss or disclose any information regarding any loan file, employee file or loan transaction to anyone not employed by LLS or affiliate entity, not a permissible third-party affiliate involved in the loan transaction outside of the company in any manner, including anyone in the company who does not possess a bona fide reason to know said information.

LLS will not ask any employee to work “off the clock,” “shave” their hours, or otherwise maintain an inaccurate accounting of their time.
