Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a hospital-based inpatient respiratory care position requiring an Associate's degree, NBRC-CRT certification, and Illinois RCP licensure.
Details

Inpatient respiratory care unit setting with responsibility for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations
Also evaluates and treats patients in the Emergency Department
Performs arterial, venous, and capillary blood gas sampling and analysis
Utilizes EPIC EMR for charting and charge entry
Day shift schedule, 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3x12 hour shifts per week
Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
Floating as needed within the facility
Requirements

Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required
BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
Illinois RCP license required, if applicable
NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required
Solid understanding of all aspects of respiratory care required
EPIC EMR charting experience required
Level 1 Trauma center experience required
Additional Information

Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
Assemble, clean, and prepare respiratory equipment for safe operation and report malfunctioning equipment as needed
Complete assessments on ventilator patients and other patients receiving respiratory care services
Document patient response, compliance, and sleep therapy findings accurately in the EMR and care plans
Communicate patient status and recommendations for further treatment to physicians and care team
Assist with stocking and cleaning respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
Serve as a clinical role model demonstrating strong technical and clinical judgment skills
Considered a high-risk department assignment within Respiratory Inpatient Care
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
Requested time off may not exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
First-time travelers may be considered
