Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry

NuWest is seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse for an 8-week contract opportunity in the Los Angeles, California area. In this role, you will care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and close observation, including those with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and complex medical-surgical conditions. The ideal candidate is a confident, detail-oriented RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, communicates clearly across the care team, and is committed to delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.

develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care

Administer medications and IV therapies, including titrated cardiac drips, according to physician orders and facility protocols

Perform skilled nursing procedures including IV insertion and maintenance, wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, EKG acquisition, and neurological assessments such as NIHSS scoring

Document all patient care activities accurately and in real time within the electronic medical record, and provide thorough hand-off communication at shift change and during transfers of care

Collaborate with physicians, case management, and the interdisciplinary team on rounds and discharge planning, and provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge self-care

Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation, infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements; Active Registered Nurse license valid in the State of California

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience in a Level I trauma, metropolitan-area facility

LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be issued by the City of Los Angeles), and completion of the LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to assignment start date
