Gurnick Academy is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of Nursing, Allied healthcare, and Imaging programs.Gurnick Academy is seeking an experienced RN Didactic Hybrid Instructor for our Vocational Nursing Program at our San Jose CA CampusSchedule: PM Shifts (5:00pm-10:00pm)Position: Full-time (4-5 Days) or Part-Time(2-3 Days), HybridPosition Specifics: Remote/Online Synchronous teaching Vocational Nursing Students.Benefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insuranceShort-term and long-term disability coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Accounts (Health, Dependent Care, Transit & Parking)Health Savings Account (HSA) with enrollment in a qualified medical planPaid time off401(k) retirement planEssential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach assigned Didactic classes Remote/Online Synchronous for the Gurnick Campus Vocational Nursing program.Meet with didactic and clinical faculty members to discuss program developmentAvailability to Meet on Campus as a need basis for Faculty meetings, Advisory Board Meetings, selected instruction classes, etc.Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Leadership in the organization of the program and implementation of the program's standards.Maintain continuous knowledge of medical education and assure about the facilities continuous medical education requirements.RequirementsThe BVNPT is requiring a Bachelor's degree for LVN and RN for faculty candidatesAn instructor in a vocational nursing program shall have or be currently attending a course offered by an approved school in teaching; and shall meet the requirements of: Subsection A or B, below:(A) Registered Nurse:Hold a current California active license as a Registered Nurse; andHold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; andHave a minimum of three years experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse within the last five years(B) Licensed Vocational Nurse:Hold a current California active license as a Vocational Nurse; andHold a baccalaureate degree from an approved school; or a valid teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full-time teaching experience in a state approved registered nursing or vocational or practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years; or met community college or state university teaching requirements in California; andHave a minimum of three years experience as a vocational nurse within the last five years.Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other characteristics protected by any applicable law.
