We are currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist who is skilled at evaluating and treating general/geriatric orthopedic population often with co-morbidities of non-neurologic falls/impaired balance and cancer who have been referred for ambulatory physical therapy services. The candidate is required to have 3 years of orthopedic experience, along with an interest in geriatrics, osteoporosis and oncology. The position will partner with a physical therapy assistant. Interpret referrals and ensure necessary precautions are identified so that appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment can be provided.

May conduct research under the guidance of a Physical Therapy Director.
May conduct special projects contributing to teaching materials and procedures used in physical therapy.
Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas.
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or basic MS
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT)
Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan
Current CPR and First Aid Certification

• A passion for rehab care- Taking patients the next steps to returning to independent functioning in home/work/community activities
• Prior experience and/or interest inOncology Rehab and Geriatrics is desired
• General orthopedic outpatient experience or internship program completion is preferred.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. The clinic is open Monday-Friday 7am to 6pm. This position is 40 hours per week, and will be expected to cover 2-3 closing shifts. 4-10 hour days are possible dependent on clinic needs and candidate preference.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
