LPN - Gastroenterology Clinic - Full Time

We are committed to improving the quality of life and longevity of our patients and our communities through the prevention, detection, and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.WAGI is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Puyallup Clinic Team. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care in the Medical Office setting by using sound judgment and cognitive abilities to make patient care decisions based on scientific nursing knowledge, consistent with the needs of the patient.ResponsibilitiesPrepares patient for examination by greeting patient in a positive, professional manner, gathering patient vitals, including weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration's, and escorting patient to exam room.Updates and documents patient's current medications, problem list, allergies, and health history, and relevant problems and/or complaints in the patient medical record.Provides instruction, education, and direction to patients on routine medical questions, procedures and ordered tests.Assists patients with prescription refill requests within Washington Gastroenterology policy.Manages nursing in-box requests and maintains the sample medication supplies and the patient care supply inventory.Supports administrative functions of the medical office by assisting the administrative staff when needed.Obtains insurance authorization for necessary medications prescribed by Washington Gastroenterology providers.Schedules patient procedure, lab, and x-ray appointments, as well as follow-up visits for the patient. Assures the patient is scheduled at the appropriate facility, that the patient is aware, and that the information is documented in the medical record.Obtains pre-procedure medical clearance from outside providers for patients with cardiac and other high-risk modalities.Documents all patient care encounters accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.Maintains exam rooms, cleansing between patients and restocking as needed.QualificationsGraduate of accredited Licensed Practical Nursing programPrevious experience in a clinical setting preferredCurrent license as an LPN in the State of WashingtonCurrent BLS certificationPhysical Activities and RequirementsOccasional travel may be required to other local locations on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 10 hours per dayProlonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computersAbility to bend, twist, stoop, and reachAble to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 25 pounds)As a healthcare organization, the candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Your vaccination status is confidential information not to be shared with the Hiring Manager.Compensation and BenefitsEmployees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance. In addition employees are able to enroll in our company's 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit sharing contribution.All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of.04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40 hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire.WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule.A new hire full time employee in this role will be eligible for a Hiring Bonus in the amount of $3,000.00.This is an Hourly position and the anticipated Compensation range is $24.65 - $31.90. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.
