This is a full-time position, including coverage on weekends, night and holidays. The APP will work under the supervision of the CCU intensivist, managing critically ill patients with complex cardiac conditions in a 10-bed specialized unit. Perform history and physicals, comprehensive assessments and manage the care of critically ill cardiac patients in the CCU. Develop a plan of care in collaboration with the CCU multidisciplinary team (i.e., intensivist, attending cardiologist, medical resident, cardiology fellow, and CCU Nurses) to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans. Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions such as acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, post-operative cardiac surgery recovery and mechanical circulatory support devices (e.g., Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly. Participate in daily CCU rounds and assist with rapid response and code situations. Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and other team members, providing education and support throughout the care continuum. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of clinical encounters, progress notes, orders, and care plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) as well as entry of procedural and time based evaluation/management codes. Contribute to unit-based quality improvement initiatives and clinical research as appropriate. Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and all regulatory requirements. Qualifications Master’s or doctorate degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Studies from an accredited program Active license and board certification in the state of New Jersey NP (ACNP or FNP) or PA-C Active DEA and CDS registration.
