16.68 - 20.00 US per hour

Salary: $16.68 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience

This is a full-time position with the Department of Corrections. This position provides clerical/secretarial support for the Parole Agents and Juvenile Corrections Agents assigned to the Aberdeen office. Duties include composing and typing correspondence, establishing, and maintaining filing and data systems, and gathering and providing information.

business English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation;

modern office equipment, practices, and procedures;

computer software applications;

gather, compare, and summarize data from a variety of sources;

operate a variety of office equipment;

read and comprehend materials;

proof and edit solutions to arithmetic problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages;

transcribe material from machine dictation;

This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
