Head of Business to Business Operations

Henry North is partnered with an established, 90+ year material handling equipment, forklift, and warehouse automation provider, serving Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.and Federal Government clients worldwide, searching for a Field Service Manager to lead its Richmond/Ashland, VA field service team.

The Field Service Manager will lead and develop a team of roughly 15 field technicians, including a Team Leader, acting as an owner of their service business within the organization. This is a people‑leadership role first: the ideal candidate builds culture, empowers autonomy, and drives results, spending roughly 80% of their time in the field and 20% from home or office.

Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~15 field technicians, including a Team Leader (a second Team Leader hire is planned).

Build an ownership mentality across the team — technicians who take responsibility for their territory and accounts.

Support technicians in the field with tools and local support, and assist with service dispatch as needed.

Prioritize people‑leadership and team development over hands‑on mechanical work.

Deliver a strong customer experience and drive measurable results across the territory.

Act as an owner of the service business within the organization.

Proven people‑leadership experience, building, coaching, and empowering teams, valued above technical or mechanical aptitude.

Based in, or willing to be based in, the Richmond/Ashland, VA area, with the ability to travel locally/regionally.

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 base + Bonus.
