Job Title: Custodian
Department: Operations
Supervised by: Building Principal
Essential Functions
Daily Cleaning & Sanitization
Empty trash and tidy furniture to ensure rooms are ready for the next day.
Dust all surfaces and wipe down mirrors and windows.
Sweep and mop hard floors and vacuum all carpeted areas.
Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers; restock soap and paper disposables.
Facility Maintenance & Security
Maintain the building's entrance and ensure it is clear and accessible
Secure the facility after hours by locking all doors and windows.
Keep the workroom/closet orderly and ensure cleaning supplies are fully stocked.
Perform physical tasks as needed, such as moving furniture or lifting heavy items.
Safety & Reporting
Follow all safety rules and regulations at all times.
Immediately report major damages, safety hazards, or concerns to the Principal.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in custodial work or general maintenance preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of sanitizing solutions
Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
Understanding of safety hazards and the proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
Ability to perform basic repairs and safely operate routine maintenance tools/equipment
Highly detail-oriented and thorough in all tasks.
Ability to remain polite and courteous when interacting with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
A proven ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and reach throughout the shift.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
