Cytology Technician

In doing so documents findings and activities according to departmental terminology and protocols including; marking abnormalities, rendering diagnoses and determining cases for quality control or subsequent review by a pathologist. Position will be required to perform routine quality control, participate in cellular evaluations for specimen adequacy, provide procedural support and perform specimen processing as needed. Position will also assist with the technical oversight and direction of routine cytology processing procedures in order to ensure high quality, diagnostic throughput in the department. Bachelor Degree with successful completion of a NAACLS accredited cytology program.

~ Experience: One year of Laboratory experience.

Three years of full time experience as a certified CT in a Cytology Laboratory.

~ Technical expertise necessary in order to interpret tests, recognize abnormal test results, validate and optimize new testing platforms, synthesize complex technical procedures and troubleshoot technical or equipment issues.
Ability to work on several projects at one time with good organizational skills, judgment and technical skills.
High level of professionalism and skillful performance in stressful situations.
