We are a well-established, independent eye care practice with over 30 years of experience, and we're looking for a friendly, compassionate, and outgoing Optician to join our team in Austin, Texas. At our office, we treat both our employees and patients like family, creating an environment where everyone feels at home. Plus, we value your work-life balance - we're open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and you'll have your weekends free!
Pay: $17.50 - $26.00 per hour; Job Type: Full-time

Guide patients in selecting eyewear based on doctor recommendations, combining optical knowledge with an eye for fashion to ensure both visual success and patient confidence.

• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, materials, and proper eyewear care to help them make informed decisions.
• Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including assisting patients, answering phones, checking in jobs, and maintaining smooth workflow throughout the day.
• Understand and communicate vision and medical insurance benefits, copays, and coverage clearly to patients.
• Assist with job check-in, quality verification, and preparation of eyewear for patient pickup.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment
• Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) vision insurance, medical copays, and optical workflows
