Description:
The role involves providing patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical telemetry unit.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5.
Experience working with acute medicine, tube feeds, and oxygen titration is essential.
The unit cares for medical/surgical patients, post-interventional patients, neuro overflow, and surgical overflow.
Travelers will float within the service line as necessary.
Candidates should be open to working in different areas of the unit.
Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
This is a high turnover, high functioning unit that demands strong clinical skills and adaptability.
Special procedures will include phlebotomy.
Candidates must have skills in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to provide total patient care.
The hospital is a teaching facility with a high daily census.
Daily patient loads can vary and may require flexibility in scheduling.
