Merchandiser, Retail Sales

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Merchandiser to join our team at AMCON Distributing Company. As a Sales Merchandiser , you will be responsible for maximizing sales and profitability by effectively managing product placement, promotion, and availability within assigned stores. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, a keen eye for visual merchandising, and a strong understanding of consumer buying behavior.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current customers, to ensure effective product placement and promotion.

Execute merchandising strategies to optimize product visibility and increase sales within assigned stores.

Regularly visit assigned stores to ensure proper product placement, accurate pricing, and sufficient stock levels.

Collaborate with Sales Consultants to implement promotional activities, including displays, signage, and special offers.

Collect and analyze sales data to identify sales trends, evaluate promotional effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities for increased sales and improved merchandising strategies.

Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment of merchandising activities with overall business objectives.

Stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements related to merchandising and retail sales.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business or related field is a plus.

Proven experience as a Sales Merchandiser or similar role in the convenience or retail industry.

Solid understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, pricing strategies, and product placement.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Flexibility to travel within assigned market and work occasional evenings, as required.

Proficient in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and merchandising tools.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned market as required.
