Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (12-hour nights, 18:45–07:15) | 36–48 hours per week | 13–26 week contract
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing diagnoses including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, anemia, encephalopathy, hip fracture, and COVID-19
Perform and manage IV therapy including central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, and starting IVs
Administer blood products, heparin, PCA, and IV insulin protocols; manage colostomy care, feeding tubes, and wound care including wound vac
Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias using remote telemetry; utilize Rapid Response Team protocols as needed
Manage respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, oral suctioning, and chest tubes
Float to other units as required; participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Proficiency with Medical/Surgical nursing skills including telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions, and pre/post hemodialysis management
Availability for full hospital orientation during week one, including classes each day
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, port access, tracheostomy management, surgical drains, and ABG interpretation
Background in CVA patient care and insulin management
Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
MS/Tele combined unit experience
