Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
Under the general supervision of the facility medical director, provides quality and comprehensive diagnostic services in Sleep Medicine. Includes evaluating sleep disorders through both in lab and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive care, and direct patient education.
Performs diagnostic testing for sleep disorders including baseline diagnostic polysomnograms (PSG), positive airway pressure titrations (CPAP, Bi-level PAP, AVAPs, ASV), multiple sleep latency (MSLT), titration of oral devices for OSA, and supplemental oxygen titration
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (ABSM) as a Sleep Disorder Specialist (RRT-SDS) or Registration by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a RPSGT required
State of Idaho licensure as a Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist required
