Drillers AssistantThe ideal candidate must have strong skills in Environmental soil sampling, groundwater sampling, well installation and abandonment. Performing these tasks in a safe manner is a must and a successful candidate will need to demonstrate their knowledge and ability to conduct drilling operations safely. This position will be responsible for assisting drilling and geoprobe operations on job sites.Perform drilling services and well installations by operating and/or supporting drilling equipment to bore exploratory vertical holes into the earth to evaluate soil type and obtain intact soil and groundwater samples to evaluate subsurface conditionsProficient at Drilling and setting wells with HSA, Soil and groundwater sampling with MC-5 and SP-16Travel to remote locations throughout Florida and southeast USA in support of project workDemonstrate positive attitude, enthusiasm, initiative, and strong organizational abilitiesSafely execute drilling activities according to Action's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, OSHA code of federal regulationsInspect drill rigs and associated equipmentWork with Engineers, Geologists, and Environmental Scientists to obtain soil and groundwater samples to evaluate subsurface conditionsOperate miscellaneous equipment (e.g. water / steam pressure washers, cement pumps)Perform manual labor by assembling and disassembling equipment.Maintains an accurate drill logEnsure all equipment is accounted for dailyEnsure sufficient supplies are gathered for the dayMaintenance and care of all assigned equipmentCompletes all necessary paperworkEnsure the Company vehicle is kept clean and orderlyActive participation in all safety/tailgate meetingsAdditional duties as assignedExperience and Skill Requirements:1+ years of experience working on a drilling crew, preferably with geoprobe experienceSkilled in soil sampling, groundwater sampling, well installation and abandonment requiredProficient at Drilling and setting wells with HSA, Soil and groundwater sampling with MC-5 and SP-16Safety conscious work ethic requiredAbility to travel out of town occasionallyClass A or B driver's license requiredStrong organization and communication skills40 hour OSHA and MSHA new miner training preferredTWIC Port ID and MICCS cards preferredAbility to Read and Write, as well as ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check is required
