Server at Golden Corral Position Title Server

Position Overview The main responsibility of the Server is “Making Pleasurable Dining Affordable.” Guest service is the most important part of the Server’s responsibilities. The keys to success for a Server include a clean, neat appearance, positive attitude, and courtesy.

Key Responsibilities Guest Service Ensures guest satisfaction and promotes return visits by following the Eight Steps of Service.

Practices positive public relations through ensuring our restaurant is welcoming and an inclusive environment for all guests.

Promotes teamwork by assisting other Servers to ensure outstanding guest service.

Adherence to Standards Thoroughly understands product specifications and ensures guests’ receipts match the number of guests dining in their party.

Brings equipment and facility problems to the attention of the Manager.

Is familiar with the correct table bussing procedures.

Follows safe work practices to ensure personal safety and the safety of other Co-workers and guests.

Cleanliness Performs duty roster and Cleanliness, Service, and Quality (CSQ) responsibilities.

Follows local health department laws.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the server station and dining area.

Ensure that all items, such as silverware, glassware, and condiments, are clean, stocked, and ready for use.

Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure food safety, including proper handling of food and beverages.

Customer Satisfaction Monitor guests throughout their meal to ensure their satisfaction with both food and service.

Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and promptly, working to resolve problems or elevate to a manager when necessary.

Teamwork & Collaboration Work collaboratively with other servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient service and smooth restaurant operations.

Assist with bussing tables, cleaning, and resetting tables between guests to maintain a clean dining area.

Support the kitchen staff by communicating guest requests, special orders, or modifications to dishes.

Skills & Qualifications Customer Service: Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with a team, including fellow servers, kitchen staff, and management.

Attention to Detail: Ensures orders are accurate and food is delivered correctly and promptly.

Ability to address customer concerns or issues with professionalism and resolve them to ensure customer satisfaction.

Upselling: Comfortably recommending additional menu items to enhance the guest’s experience and contribute to the restaurant’s sales.

Perform repetitive motions, including frequent use of hands and arms for tasks such as chopping, stirring, carrying, and operating equipment.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly as part of job duties, including but not limited to food supplies, dishware, and equipment. When handling heavier loads, employees MUST use appropriate lifting equipment and/or seek assistance from a second person.

Ability to move around the kitchen quickly and efficiently.

Compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.

Work Environment/ Job Conditions Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Employees may regularly work in varying temperature zones, including hot kitchen areas with stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers, as well as cold storage areas like refrigerators and freezers.

May involve exposure to heat, noise, and cleaning chemicals in the kitchen area.

Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and training ensure safety and comfort while handling temperature-sensitive tasks.

Awareness of temperature fluctuations and safe practices is essential for maintaining food safety standards and personal well-being.

Job duties span both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring adaptability to different environments.

Outdoor tasks may involve curbside delivery, trash maintenance, or ensuring a clean and welcoming exterior for guests.
