Travel Nurse Pediatrics RN Day Shift Job

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric OR Circulator RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level 3 Pediatric Hospital in Austin, TX, requiring a TX or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Requirements

Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)

Current PALS certification required (AHA-issued only)

Minimum 2 years of OR circulator experience required

Pediatric surgical nursing experience strongly preferred

Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address

Driver's License required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Responsibilities

Pediatric surgical unit with 3 ORs and 2 Endoscopy/Procedure Rooms, plus 14 Pre-Op/Recovery and 13 PACU beds

Level 3 Trauma Pediatric Hospital

All surgical procedures performed excluding cardiovascular and neurosurgery

Anesthesia (MD and CRNA) available 24/7 for support

Day shift: 06:30-15:00

13-week contract

Cerner EMR used; experience preferred but not required

Holiday coverage required on a shared basis

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Responsibilities include performing circulating functions: monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition, and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures

Directly assists the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning

Prepares operating rooms and ensures surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use

Orientation period consists of 3-5 shifts

Candidates who reside within the facility's local radius may be eligible to apply but may qualify for a different pay rate

COVID vaccination is not required for this position
