Licensed Vocational Nurse - LVN (Adult - Weekends)

Description We need an LPN to work in our Adult Day on Tuesdays from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, and willing to fill in on other days if needed. There are no holidays or weekends.
The LPN generally assumes a charge nurse role which is key in providing a productive work environment, quality resident care, and front-line leadership. Reporting to the nursing supervisor, the charge nurse maintains unit morale and ensures daily compliance of Federal, State, and local regulations.
Unit Leadership 1. Responsible for the unit morale by providing a team based work environment through effective team leadership and a demonstrated positive attitude, including STNA assignment and supervision.

1. Assumes a lead role in employee related issues such as discipline, performance evaluations, retention, and development of qualified personnel.
2. Works with the Nursing supervisor to ensure compliance of Federal, State, and local regulations that govern the long-term care industry.
3. Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-departmental and cross-functional personnel.
4. Facilitates unit communications by conducting regular meetings with staff personnel designed to identify and correct problem areas and/or the improvement of services.
5. Responsible for the training and skills assessment of assigned nursing personnel. Ensures all unit members are knowledgeable and compliant with resident's rights and responsibilities.

LPN Duties 1.Assists with the admission, transfer, and discharge residents.

1. Participates in preliminary resident needs assessments and in the development of a written plan of care.
2. Performs daily resident visits to assess and evaluate resident status changes and nursing needs.
3. Completes medical forms, evaluations, and accident/incident reports in a timely manner.
4. Administers medications and performs treatments as directed by the attending physician or nursing supervisor.
5. Accountable for the proper maintenance of written procedures outlining the administration, storage, and control of medications and medical supplies.
6. Consults the nursing supervisor and/or attending physician in the planning, treatment, and rehabilitation of assigned residents. Ensures proper notification of appropriate personnel when a change in the resident's condition occurs.
7. Remains current of applicable regulations and procedures by professional publications and attending applicable seminars.

Requirements Successful completion of Licensed Practical Nurse curriculum from an accredited LPN program
Possess a current LPN Ohio license
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable Federal regulations and Ohio State regulations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong leadership skills
Knowledge of team principles and applications
2 years of experience working in long-term care a plus
