Sorter/Donation ProcessorThe Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for saleKeep donation area clean and without debrisSorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household itemsLoading donations for truck deliveryAdhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucksFollow all accident and injury reporting proceduresMaintain a clean and organized receiving and processing areaDetermine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageableOther duties as assignedAdhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct SupervisorKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:Educational Requirements:High School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor.Physical Requirements:To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties with or without accommodation.
