CAD Engineering

CAD Designer IIOur client is seeking a CAD Designer II to support the design of water and wastewater treatment equipment. This role will create 3D models, skid layouts, piping designs, and fabrication drawings for industrial process systems while working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.ResponsibilitiesDesign and model process skids, piping systems, and water treatment equipment.Create fabrication drawings, skid layouts, spool drawings, and general arrangement drawings.Review P&IDs, project specifications, and design requirements.Perform drawing quality checks and support project schedules.QualificationsAssociate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.2-5 years of CAD design experience in industrial, process, or skid-based environments.Experience with skid design, water systems, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings.Proficiency with AutoCAD; AutoCAD Plant 3D is highly preferred.Strong understanding of piping systems, equipment layouts, and drafting standards.Preferred QualificationsExperience with water/wastewater treatment equipment.Familiarity with fabrication and skid assembly practices.Work EnvironmentOffice-based role with occasional visits to a local fabrication shop.Contract-to-hire opportunity.Potential salary raise when going permanent.Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Plano, TX.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:Medical, dental & visionCritical Illness, Accident, and Hospital401(k) Retirement Plan – Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions availableLife Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents)Short and long-term disabilityHealth Spending Account (HSA)Transportation benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramTime Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave)Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Plano, TX.Application DeadlineThis position is anticipated to close on Sep 8, 2026.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
