Registered Nurse Travel Job Telemetry Shift Nights

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring pre-cardiac cath and port management experience along with prior travel nursing background.

Job Details

• Telemetry unit setting supporting ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds,
• May float to Observation Units, MS/Tele, or Neuro Stepdown units across campuses as needed,
• Night shift schedule (3x12), 19:00-07:30,
• Rotating schedule includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period,
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6,
• Uses Epic EMR,

Job Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration,
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required,
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath care and accessing/managing ports required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management,
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management,
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols,
• COVID and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only),

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients, including those awaiting inpatient placement,
• Support ED boarder patients and float to observation units as census requires,
• No RTO permitted between 12/15/2026 and 1/5/2027,
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted,
• Natural fingernails required for direct patient care, under 1/4 inch in length; no nose rings or gauged earrings permitted,
• No cafeteria on-site, though refrigerator and microwave are provided,
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces,
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate,
• Returning staff must be separated from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
