Water/Wastewater Engineering

Job Description Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for our Knoxville or Chattanooga offices. As part of our design and process teams, you will work on water and wastewater projects, including drinking water/wastewater/reuse treatment facility upgrades, conveyance systems, stormwater management, water resources, and asset management. Candidates shall have experience in municipal water/wastewater design, project management, and business development.

Evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projects.
Project management including organizing staff assignments, invoicing, budgeting, and client deliverables.
Supervision of junior staff.
Construction management services including construction administration, project start-up, and project closeout.
Fieldwork and site visits from design through design and construction may be required with occasional travel.
7 – 12 years of experience in the water/wastewater field.

• Experience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in planning, design, and construction for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Project management experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Proficiency in all MS Office based computer software.
• S. degree in Environmental, Civil, or Biosystems Engineering.

Advanced degree (Master’s) of Science or Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered case by case).
