What You'll Do As a Prep Cook , you'll be the backbone of our kitchen by preparing the fresh ingredients our guests expect every day.
Responsibilities include:
Wash, cut, slice, dice, and portion fresh vegetables and fruits
Prepare proteins, cheeses, sauces, and dressings according to Newk's recipes
Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency
Label, rotate, and store food using FIFO inventory practices
Prepare soups and other scratch-made recipes as assigned
Stock prep stations and kitchen areas for daily service
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep area
Operate knives and kitchen equipment safely
Assist with deliveries, inventory organization, and product rotation
Support the line during busy meal periods when needed
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards

Previous prep cook, kitchen prep, food preparation, or restaurant experience is a plus—but we'll train motivated individuals with the right attitude.

Ensure every ingredient is prepped correctly before each shift
Keep the kitchen fully stocked and organized throughout the day
Maintain Newk's high standards for freshness and food quality
Follow recipes and portion specifications every time
Minimize food waste through proper storage and rotation
