The Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. Education: High school diploma/equivalent and formal nursing or medical assistant training program required. (2) years work experience with the psychiatric patient population highly preferred.

Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred.
