Job Purpose

As a Math Teacher, you will create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines. Establish effective rapport with students, staff members, and parents. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation in accordance with each student's ability.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.

Make purposeful lesson plans that provide effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.

Present subject matter to students, maximizing learning opportunities and providing real‑world, application‑based examples.

Review student records to assess abilities and needs; maintain accurate and complete records.

Strive to maximize the educational achievement of each student.

Utilize a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction.

Use diagnostic assessment of student learning on a frequent basis.

Assess strengths and weaknesses, provide appropriate activities, and generate progress reports.

Refer students with suspected learning problems to support personnel.

Assign lessons, correct student work, and review oral presentations.

Coordinate class field trips (as required).

Prepare students for state‑required achievement assessments.

Keep current in subject‑matter knowledge, learning theory, and share for curriculum improvement.

Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process, including written courses of study.

Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.

Acquaint yourself with supplemental services beneficial to students.

Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.

Maintain positive rapport with students and demonstrate patience and nurturing.

Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student‑generated work where appropriate.

Implement all relevant student conduct policies.

Develop reasonable rules in accordance with company policy and maintain order fairly and consistently.

Participate in curriculum planning with staff and incorporate diagnostic information into IEPs as required.

Take precautions to protect supplies, equipment, and materials needed for effective instruction.

Strive to establish cooperative relations with parents/guardians and communicate clearly through appropriate mediums.

Cooperate with administration, staff, and the company; maintain confidentiality of student records.

Participate in parent communication activities and extracurricular activities when required.

Requirements

Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the company's mission and values.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, parents, community, and staff.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, active listening, negotiation, and influencing.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Student Information System, and email communication.

Commitment to continuous improvement, quality, and accuracy.

Demonstrated application of best practices and character education.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent.

Valid teaching certification (as appropriate).

Minimum of one to three years of successful teaching experience (may include student‑teaching internship).

Command of grades/subject‑specific content and learning theory including motivation, reinforcement, evaluation, and feedback.

Understanding and commitment to company values.

Successful criminal and employment background check.

Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication.

Adherence to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.

Alternative qualifications acceptable if appropriate and acceptable to the company.

Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
The work environment is characterized by typical school conditions and may be noisy during periods of high student traffic.

Physical Demands

No physical exertion required.

Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.

Light work: may require lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally or up to 10 pounds as needed.
