Optician / Retail Stylist

Who This Role Is For
This is not a passive retail job.

You are responsible for helping patients see better, feel confident, and make decisions they trust. That requires more than being nice. It requires confidence, communication, and the ability to guide people.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable:

Leading conversations

Making recommendations

Talking about money clearly and confidently

We can train product knowledge. We cannot train confidence, energy, or presence.

The Reality of This Role

You will be guiding patients through purchasing decisions, not just showing products

You will need to confidently recommend higher-quality options when appropriate

You will have conversations about pricing, insurance, and upgrades

You will work in a fast‑paced environment where multiple patients need attention

You are expected to maintain strong energy and engagement throughout the day

If you are uncomfortable influencing decisions or discussing money, this role will feel difficult.

What Success Looks Like
You will thrive here if you naturally:

Speak with confidence and guide conversations instead of waiting

Build trust quickly and make patients feel comfortable making decisions

Recommend what’s best for the patient, not just what’s easiest

Handle pricing conversations clearly without hesitation

Stay engaged and attentive even during long or busy days

Take ownership of your results and performance

Feel uncomfortable recommending products or services

Avoid conversations about money or value

Prefer a low-pressure, purely transactional role

Wait for direction instead of taking initiative

Struggle receiving direct feedback

Get discouraged by rejection or indecision

What You’ll Be Doing

Guide patients in selecting eyewear that fits their lifestyle and needs

Educate patients on lens options and make clear recommendations

Confidently present pricing and explain insurance benefits

Dispense and adjust glasses with precision and care

Maintain and organize optical inventory and displays

Support overall patient experience and office flow
