Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking Teachers Technology Engineering Education.

Teaches introductory and advanced engineering related subjects in high school or middle school, with emphasis on practical applications; develops lessons and instructs students in various engineering related fields.

Instructs students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to meet course curricular expectations.

Provides a safe environment that encourages risk-taking by using rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences. Establishes an inquiry culture for learning that is project-based, innovative and challenging.

Bilingual and biliterate in targeted language may be required depending on assignment.

Plans, prepares and delivers lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials to students in a safe and appropriate manner.

Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.

Presents, demonstrates and uses various educational technologies to aid in sharing subject matter to students.

Provides an atmosphere and safe environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of children.

Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities. Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and supervises students in a variety of school related settings. e.g. field trips, extra-curricular activities, etc.

Keeps attendance and grade records as required by Board Policy/Administrative Regulation.

Counsels pupils when academic and adjustment problems arise.

arranges and participates in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary.

Serves on school-based committees or teams.

Attends and actively participates in professional learning opportunities related to technology and engineering education, staff/faculty meetings; and provides input regarding the planning of instructional goals, methods, and student learning objectives.

May be assigned to any applicable school in the school district.

Teachers may be placed at any school in the district and will work 37.5 hours per week for 191 days per year.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Technology Education, Education or in a related field. Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) professional or advanced teaching certificate or license in Technology Education for grades 7-12.

Demonstrated knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) principles and CAD software.

Business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint).

**Knowledge can be demonstrated through coursework, training, or experience.

May be assigned to any applicable school in the school district.
