CNA -NURSING CARE

Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.

Documents care provided according to standards.

Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.

Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.

Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.

Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator.

Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency).

Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor.

Managing and reporting collection devices: colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems – care and output measures.

Indwelling catheters – care and output measures.

Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN.

Completion of a CNA program.

Current CNA certificate in applicable state.

pursues training and development opportunities; reacts well under pressure; uses equipment and materials properly; utilizes appropriate equipment for partner/patient safety, such as lifts and gait belts.
