Handyman / Commercial Facilities Tech
Pay: $30/hr
Shift: Monday - Friday / Swing (4PM - 12AM)
Location: Davis, CA
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic for a commercial retirement community. This role involves maintaining kitchen equipment, plumbing systems, electrical components, and general building maintenance. The ideal candidate can diagnose and repair commercial ovens, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, respond to service requests, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair commercial ovens and kitchen equipment.
Perform plumbing repairs including faucets, toilets, drains, and water lines.
Conduct electrical troubleshooting for 120V/240V equipment and outlets.
Execute preventive maintenance programs.
Handle general carpentry and drywall repair.
Manage work orders and respond to resident service requests.
Essential Skills
Experience in living, hospitality, or multifamily housing.
Experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot equipment failures.
Strong customer service skills when interacting with residents and staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
~ Knowledge of HVAC basics is preferred but not always required.

Work Environment
The position is non-exempt with flexible hours to meet the needs of the community. The work is active, involving a moderate to high amount of walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and handling. Moderate to heavy physical labor requiring frequent lifting of 35 to 50 pounds may be necessary. The role may involve exposure to chemicals, hazardous materials, uncomfortable odors, or temperatures. Safety is a priority, and all employees are expected to comply with community safety policies and procedures. The ideal shift for this role is Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 12 am, allowing work on kitchen equipment when the kitchen is less busy.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davis, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
