Development Engineering

Development Engineer (Contractor) Location: Troy, MI
Responsibilities Provide technical guidance to OEMs and internal teams, resolving issues and ensuring seamless integration of company products into vehicle platforms
Support product and component testing, as well as system-level analysis, including running simulations and utilizing diagnostic tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer
Assist in creating and reviewing technical documentation, specifications, and test plans to ensure product integrity and quality
Work closely with internal teams, OEMs, and Tier 2 suppliers to facilitate product development and integration
Provide technical assistance during product launches, prototype builds, and production changeovers, ensuring smooth transitions from design to production
Other duties as assigned
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Software) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Familiarity with core quality tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP
Proficiency in C++, C, Shell Script, and Batch Script; Linux background is a plus
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external contacts
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and thrive in high‑pressure situations that may arise during production issues
Comfortable with hands‑on work involving assembly, installation, or movement of engineering components and test equipment
Preferred Previous internships or co‑op experience in automotive design, manufacturing, or quality
Experience with simulation tools like CANoe or CANalyzer for vehicle platform testing
Hands‑on experience in the automotive industry, specifically with product launches or prototype builds
Travel / Physical Requirements Up to 30% travel, including out‑of‑state and international travel as required
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to supplier/OEM facilities as needed
Ability to lift and/or carry equipment up to 35 lbs
