Full Time Architect

Job Summary
We currently have a career opportunity for an individual in FSO's Insurance Operations Technology Enablement group focusing on Telematics and Usage Based Insurance (UBI) solutions. The individual will work directly with clients to transform their business problems into technology solutions, supporting their efforts to improve effectiveness and efficiency and, where required, providing services related to process risk remediation and mitigation. The role involves analysis of business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, infrastructure design, vendor selection, and implementation planning.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Manage project teams through all phases of the technology enablement life cycle; provide subject‑matter expertise to the design and integration phase, shaping architecture, data models, system design, and interfacing requirements.

Advise clients on business process services to identify, assess, manage, and measure organizational capabilities across policy administration, billing, claims, data management, reinsurance, performance metrics, data warehousing, and technology expense reduction.

Collaborate with client technology professionals and third‑party alliances to implement technology solutions.

Participate in engagement management, execution, reporting, and client relationship building.

Have extensive experience creating new business opportunities in technology consulting.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in math, accounting, finance, or related field with 5-10 years of work experience for a manager or 10-15 years for a senior manager.

Graduate degree (MBA or MS preferred) with 5-8 years of experience for a manager or 10-13 years for a senior manager.

Relevant experience in financial services, preferably with property and casualty insurance carriers.

Proven ability to manage and supervise a team of technology advisors through all phases of the technology life cycle.

Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client servicing, and technical writing skills.

Comfort researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.

Experience in:

Defining business and technical requirements

Designing business and technology architecture

Application configuration

System selection and implementation support

Data mapping and conversion

Proof of concept

Quality assurance and testing

Business and IT process reengineering

Program/project management and implementation planning (PMO)

Previous experience in any of the following areas:

Internet of Things

Connected Mobility

Connected Vehicle

GPS Navigation

Pay‑by‑Drive/Pay‑by‑Hour/Pay‑by‑Hour‑Day insurance

Telematics (fleet management, tracking, car infotainment, e‑call, Pay‑by‑Drive insurance)

Mobile content and mobile internet services

Business Intelligence patterns (standard data modelling, OLAP platforms, data presentation and consumption)

Strong knowledge of business case development for UBI using mobile and telematics technologies.

Solid understanding of insurance‑related metrics, KPIs, and analytics driving business decisions.

Experience of 5+ years in UBI, telematics, and business strategy (senior level).

Willingness and ability to travel 80-100% of the time.
