Job Description Machinist Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machinist to support daily maintenance and production operations at our paper mill. This role is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual machinist equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
Fabricate and repair parts used in paper mill machinery
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality
Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Work closely with maintenance and production teams
Qualifications
Previous machinist or industrial manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to read measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
Basic math and mechanical skills
Strong attention to detail and safety
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
