Cytotechnologist

Performs responsible administrative and supervisory duties in directing the activities for routine screening and special procedures in the preparation and examination of cellular material for detection of malignant cells; Training and Experience 1. Continuing possession of a current, valid, license to practice as a Cytotechnologist issued by the New York State Education Department, and, either A. Five years of satisfactory, full-time, experience as a Cytotechnologist in an approved cytology laboratory or B. Registration as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and Four years of satisfactory, full-time, experience as a Cytotechnologist in an approved cytology laboratory. Possession of a permit to practice as a Cytotechnologist at the Nassau Health Care Corporation issued by the New York State Education Department. Five years of satisfactory, full-time, experience as a Cytotechnologist in an approved cytology laboratory or B. Registration as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and Four years of satisfactory, full-time, experience as a Cytotechnologist in an approved cytology laboratory.

NAMES OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE ELIGIBLE LIST AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT TO A FULL OR A PART TIME POSITION OR ONE YEAR AFTER BEING PLACED ON THE LIST.
