Respiratory Care Therapist

This position involves working three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates must be willing to work some holidays. Candidates will be expected to work in ICUs and hospital floors. Occasionally, there may be a request to precept respiratory therapy students. Thorough knowledge in caring for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases is essential. Candidates must be able to walk relatively long distances. Endotracheal tube placement and suctioning Extubation Nasal airway suctioning Oral airway placement Oropharyngeal suctioning Sputum specimen collection Tracheostomy care and suctioning ABG interpretation Medication administration skills needed: BiPAP CPAP Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms Weaning from mechanical ventilation Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. The candidate should be adaptable to shifting responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
