Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the GI department is a professional caregiver responsible for providing high-quality care to a designated group of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with other healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Perform ongoing assessment and data collection focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status of patients.
Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses.
Formulate and prioritize goal-directed plans of care based on nursing diagnoses and expected patient outcomes.
Implement care knowledgeably and consistently.
Document patient care accurately and timely.
Evaluate effectiveness of care and outcomes regularly.
Participate in emergency response situations, following established protocols.
Maintain a strong, ethical approach in all aspects of patient care.
Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate with healthcare team members.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Active RN license in the relevant state.
Endoscopy training or experience preferred.
Current certifications, including BLS and ACLS, as per facility requirements.
