The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff is essential. This position is also responsible for working as a team member within the Non-Invasive Cardiology area to perform electrocardiographs. This position is also responsible for the clerical operation of the EKG area. Clerical functions include preparation of data for physician interpretation, transcription, filing and reporting to the medical record.**Education / Experience**:High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior training in EKG rhythm strip interpretation preferred. License / Certification**: BLS required**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: • Ability to interact with customers, peers, physicians, and other hospital staff in a professional manner. • Possesses interpersonal skills • Ability to communicate appropriately, verbal or written**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:Position requires sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
