This is a contract job opportunity with the potential for permanent placement.

Location: Encinitas, CA

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6AM to 6PM with 8-hour shifts. Depending on the location, may need to start as early as 6AM or work as late as 6PM. Will also need to rotate weekends, covering just one weekend a month if necessary.

Overview:

The primary role of a blood draw specialist is to assist in performing assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Responsibilities:

Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and decontamination. Collect and store specimens following established procedures. Clearly explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes. Demonstrate proper techniques using straight or butterfly needles. Understand and follow physician orders. Match requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed. Check requisitions against scripts for accuracy, package specimens for transport, follow OSHA and DEP regulations, attend department trainings, answer calls, and provide lab results.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, high school diploma or GED, and 1-4 years of experience.
